Mombasa senator Omar Hassan insists that his dream to replace Governor Hassan Joho is alive and real.

The former Human Rights activist has intensified his campaigns in the coastal region through programs run by Renaissance Centre.

Speaking in Changamwe on Saturday during a public participation exercise organized by his office, Omar said the county needs proper leadership.

“I do not envy anybody because I want to give my best to the people of Mombasa. We want open leadership gives development a first priority,” he said.

Omar added: “I a county where I consult people on what they want and not making decisions on their behalf. Leadership is all about consultation and that is what I am ready to offer.”

He is expected to face a stiff challenge from Governor Joho who also doubles as ODM Deputy Party leader and Nyali MP Hezron Awiti.
