Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has dismissed claims that he is focusing on running for the 2022 presidential race.
Mutua said he is focused on retaining his gubernatorial seat in the August election on a Maendeleo Chap Chap ticket.
“For now my aim is to serve the people of Machakos and that’s why I’ll still run for the gurbanatorial seat,” said Mutua.
He said that the people of Machakos should judge him on his development track record for the five years he has been in office.
“Many roads have been tarmacked during my regime and the people of Machakos does not entirely rely on relief food,” added Mutua.
He however, said that he will back Uhuru Kenyatta in the August polls adding that Kenyatta is a straight forward leader being tainted by the people surrounding him.
