Education Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i has revealed that he never knew he could one day be a Cabinet Secretary, or serve in government in a high capacity job.
He said though he was working as a public servant, he never had dreams of working in a Cabinet, or becoming a politician.
''Before one could be a Cabinet Minister, they were first required to be MPs, under the old Constitution. Me I have never had dreams of being a politician, so I knew I couldn't be a Minister,'' he said.
Speaking during an interview, Sunday, he noted the job came by, as a surprise.
''Thanks to the new Constitution, I am where I am now. It gave the opportunity for someone to be appointed a Cabinet Secretary without being a politician. If it were not for the current Constitution, who knows, nobody would have known I exist,'' Matiang'i added.
He noted his ambition is to see Kenyans served equally, and that he would continue doing the best under his docket.
