According to Mbugua, his decision to back Deputy President William Ruto in 2022 is behind his woes.

Recently, Mbugua alongside other people were charged with robbery with violence.

He made the revelation on Sunday after being blocked from holding a press conference at the Sarova Panafric Hotel.

The lawmaker is said to have booked the venue after paying Sh30, 000.

"My life is in danger. Powerful forces in government want to eliminate me because I support DP William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid," said Mbugua.

He stated that a powerful PS was behind his troubles to intimidate him over his relations with Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.
