A chief that whose house was torched on Wednesday by a woman purporting to his second wife is now attributing his woes to criminals on his wanted list.
Thuo Mwangi, the chief of Mwaki Mugi location in Bahati sub-county, has refuted claims that the suspected arsonist that torched his house was his second wife. Speaking at his office on Friday, Thuo said he had sufficient grounds to exonerate his domestic worker Eunice Nyachama who is reported by neighbours to have burned the administrator`s three bedroom house.
"My life is in danger, the criminals I have been pursuing are still at large and are now out to kill me. I appeal to the government to take up the matter," he said.
Thuo, who has sought alternative shelter at a neighbor’s house next to his home, is accusing illicit brewers, drug peddlers and thugs for the arson.
It is widely alleged that Nyachama torched the chief`s house when she received word that Chief Thuo had hired another woman to replace her as a domestic worker. Neighbors allege that Thuo after separating with his wife and four children was living with Nyachama as a wife contrary to what he was telling the public.
He was unable to rescue any of his belongings from the late evening inferno.
