Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa has claimed that his life is in danger and wants the Inspector General of Police (IG) Joseph Boinnet to guarantee his security.
Ichung'wa said in Parliament on Wednesday that some strange people have been following him in the last one week.
The Kikuyu MP further claimed that some people want to eliminate him.
He alleged that political rivals who are afraid of facing him in the 2017 election are after his life.
“People who are afraid of losing the 2017 elections at the Ballot are after my life and want to urge the IG to guarantee my security,” he said.
The MP further alleged resurgence of Mungiki sect in the Kiambu who he alleged are being used by top politicians in the county to advance their interests.
He claimed that some top politicians in Kiambu are using the outlawed militia to cause fear among their political rivals and opponents.
This is not the first time the Kikuyu MP has claimed resurgence of Mungiki in Kiambu.
Early this year, Ichungwa alleged that politicians afraid of losing 2017 elections in Kiambu were using the outlawed sect to cause fear and gain popularity.
Juja MP Francis Munyua while speaking in Parliament on Wednesday said that Ichungw'a's concerns must be taken seriously.
He claimed that some politicians in Kiambu had resulted to using militia to cause fear.
National Assembly speaker Justin Muturi assured the MP that he will forward his claims to the Inspector General of Police.
