Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Alex ole Magelo has claimed that his life is in danger.
Speaking on Friday, Magelo said that he received a short text message where the sender threatened his life.
"Uko mjanja but hesabu kuanzia leo, siku tatu hazitaisha kama hujawekwa futi sita chini". (TRANSLATION: You may be clever but start counting from today. Three days will not elapse before you go to the grave.)
According to Magelo who was speaking to the star newspaper, the message originated from an individual using the number 0701886206.
He said he has since recorded a statement at Parliament Police Station so that investigations could be initiated.
"I have wronged no one for them to threaten me. It's not a laughing matter and I cannot entertain threats on my life," said Magelo.
The threats come just two days after Nairobi MCAs revealed they had drafted an impeachment motion to send out Magelo and Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero.
