A widow of a slain Mombasa tycoon Mohammed Khan has now claimed that her life is in danger.
According to a local daily, Joyce Mumbua, a mother of two has said that she has been receiving death threats since a Mombasa High court directed for the reopening of the deceased succession file.
The widow said that unidentified persons have been threatening her for weeks over the succession of property belonging to her husband.
In his ruling in December, Justice Thande Mugure certified the issuance of the late Khan’s property to the wife.
The court ordered that several properties belonging to the tycoon, who died in 2007, to be enjoined in other properties which had been opened in 2008.
The properties include 10 parcels of land in Kwale-Diani and motor vehicles.
Only one parcel of land had been listed in the 2008 case.
The new development comes after a series of incidents occurred in relation to the properties located in various parts of Mombasa and other counties.
In 2015, seven title deeds were stolen from the house of the late tycoon after unknown persons broke into the property.
Later, the incumbent Nairobi county boss, Mike Sonko thwarted an attempt by a Diani businessman to grab land belonging to the deceased.
