Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has said that his opponents in the last year's general election were just like rained on matchsticks that could not lit a fire.
He said that ahead of the elections, his political enemies had orchestrated a plan to have him off politics for the next five years but they failed.
"My political enemies are just like a rained on matchstick. They frustrated me in ODM thinking that they would have made it but failed to take the seat away from me," he said.
The vocal MP added that despite that he jumped ship fro ODM to Ford Kenya, he still remained strong in the race.
"I enjoyed a massive support unlike my opponents who teamed up to remove me but God said no. My good performance record knocked down the opponents who have gone into hiding after the last year’s polls,” he noted.
Onyonka said that once he pulls out of the constituency politics to eye for a higher seat, the opponents will have the opportunity to lead.
“My advice to my opponents is that let them pray for me to change mind and go for a higher seat in the county and leave them to fight for the MP seat,” said the legislator.
He promised accelerated development and growth in the constituency in the next five years he will be in office.
