Migori county governor Okoth Obado appeared before The ODM probe team, Monday, following summons by the party over chaos that erupted in his county during an ODM rally organised by Suna East MP Junet Mohammed.
It is alleged the violence started when Obado and his supporters stormed the meeting thus causing confrontation between his supporters and those of his opponents.
The fracas left Mombasa governor Hassan Joho’s bodyguard shot on the leg with several people injured.
However, appearing before the disciplinary committee, the Migori governor denied allegations that he sparked the violence.
“That was the work of my opponents. His supporters started throwing stones at us as soon as we arrived,” said Obado.
Obado who was elected on a DPP ticket but later defected to Orange Democratic Movement party, stated that he was in ODM to stay.
“I am an ODM member. I am here to stay because this is my number one party,” he added.
