Kitui Governor Julius Malombe has said that residents of his county love him because of his great performance scoreboard.
Speaking to the press at his office, Malombe said that he has initiated various projects in his backyard hence he deserves another term in office to complete what he started.
“The majority of Kitui people are behind me and my competitors will realise at the polls that I am not a push over. They will be badly rejected by the voters,” the governor said, as quoted by the Star.
He added: “My administration has done 4,000 projects across the county and people are happy. That is why they will reject my competitors.”
During the same press briefing, Malombe blasted Kitui Senator David Musila and former Land CS Charity for making false promises to the people of Kitui yet they did nothing when serving the nation in different capacities.
“Even when Musila served as MP in Mwingi, his area became a case study for researchers in imbalanced and skewed development. Kitui people would not have such a leader as their governor,” Malombe said.
The Kitui gubernatorial seat is among the most watched races. It has attracted the wealthy and the mighty. Analysts believe that it is not going to be easy for Malombe to retain the seat.
