Raila Odinga says he is not moved by the government’s decision to withdraw his personal security adding that the Kenyan people are his own security.
The government allegedly withdrew security details attached to both Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka and reportedly deployed them to Northern Kenya.
And at Capitol Hill, Odinga dismissed the decision by the government as ‘light’ adding that his security is at the mercy of God and people.
“This is not the first time and I am not scared. The people of Kenya are my main security other than those who guard me,” he said, adding that he was entitled to security through existing regulations.
He added:”They expected me to be in the streets and decided to withdraw them. I am told they were deployed to some remote places.”
On why he called for demonstrations and never showed up, Odinga maintained that the demos belong to the entire people of Kenya and should not be limited to NASA leadership.
“I do not have to be there. Even in war, Generals delegate duties but ultimately, this is demonstrations by the people of Kenya and not NASA principals.”
