Sarah Cherono Samoei, the mother to the Deputy President William Ruto has called on the ICC to terminate his son's case because he is innocent.
Speaking on Saturday during the reconciliation prayer meeting at Huruma grounds, Cherono said Ruto did not organise and finance the Post Election Violence as alleged.
"As a mother to the Deputy President I am confident that he did not participate in the Post Election Violence since he is God fearing and respects life," she said.
She said she has been having sleepless nights when she sees her son travel to the Hague to answer crimes against humanity charges he faces at the international court.
"I call upon the ICC Court to terminate the case facing William Ruto and Joshua Arap Sang since we have forgiven ourselves, forgotten what took place in the post election violence and now leaving harmoniously with one another," she said.
She added that the continuation of the case will bring polarisation among tribal and political affiliations thus may lead to the occurrence of PEV.
She urged Kenyans to continue praying for her son for him to be acquitted.
