Shosi, who is said to have been on the police 'most wanted' list was killed on Tuesday following a shoot out with Anti-Terrorism Police (ATPU) officers.

His mother, Nadya Ahmed, has remained adamant that her son was framed by the police.

Ahmed said Shosi had no links to terror activities in the region, and faulted the authorities for blaming her son whenever a terror-related killing was reported.

“Every time someone is killed, they blame my son for the murder; even when a tourist was killed,” said Ahmed.

She accused police of targeting her family, saying this is the second son she has lost over terror-related claims.

His father, Mohamed Shosi Malau, said he often cautioned him against engaging in criminal activities, despite their limited association.

He said he was saddened by the loss of his son despite the terror claims.

“As a parent, I must feel the pain of losing a son. But I would not say that I know much about him. What I know is what police know about him. We did not share ideas most of the time as he used to stay with his mother, with whom we separated a long time ago,” said Malau, as quoted by Nation.

Shosi was buried on Wednesday at Kikowani Cemetery in Bondeni, Mombasa.
