Garissa Township MP aspirant and ODM Party member Nassir Dolal has said he largely depends on his sub-clan in the August polls, saying they are the majority in the constituency.
Nassir made the remarks in response to a statement made by Farah Maalim, who is by far his biggest critic that his endorsement by party leader Raila Odinga was insignificant and inconsequential.
“I am the only strongest candidate to unseat the incumbent Aden Duale in the Tonship seat. I narrowly lost the race in a very suspicious manner way back in 2013. But this time, I am confident to clinching the seat as my sub-clan form the majority," affirmed Nassir.
The entry of Dolal into the Township legislative seat has deepened Maalim's troubles given the fact that Duale is also another man to watch in the incoming polls.
Interestingly, Dolal and Maalim hail from the Aulian clan, which historically, is a political game changer in Garissa politics.
However, Dolal says he will never participate in party primaries if Maalim's Wiper party and his ODM agree to hold joint nominations since the latter is a panelist on the side of Wiper party.
