West Mugirango MP James Gesami believes his ‘incredible’ record as a member of Parliament will earn him the Nyamira governorship in 2017.
Mr. Gesami declared his interest recently joining a host of other contestants led by incumbent Governor John Nyagarama and Jomo Kenyatta Foundation Chairman Walter Nyambati.
Speaking to this writer during an interview, Gesami mentioned roads, health facilities and water among the mega projects he had initiated in his constituency.
“I believe I am fit to be the Nyamira governor given my incredible record on infrastructure, health facilities and water departments in the last nine years,” said the Former Medical Officer, Nyanza region.
“It’s all about development and as anMP; I have tried my best to also improve our schools by issuing bursaries to needy students and refurbishing our institutions. I have the ability and it’s all about being given an opportunity by Nyamira people,” he added.
Gesami is set to contest for the Orange Democratic Movement ticket alongside Governor John Nyagarama and former High Court Judge Anasi Onyancha who have all expressed their intention to run on the ticket.
