The 'mysterious eyewitness' who created a heated debate in the country after appearing at two tragic accident spots is now on the police radar.
Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has promised to probe the circumstances under which Dennis Muigai Ngengi managed to be at the Nakuru chopper accident site as well as the accident that killed Nyeri governor Mutahi Gakuru.
Speaking at the Mombasa Port after commissioning surveillance boats, Boinnet said he was going to investigate the claims saying the ‘serial witness’ was a police officer.
“It is said that there is an individual who appeared in both accident scenes. It is claimed that he is a police officer," he said.
“I will find out if it is true he is an officer or not. If yes, then I will be interested in knowing what he was doing at those two scenes,” said Boinnet.
The man in question rose to fame when TV viewers marked him after he gave witness accounts of the two separate accidents where he claimed to have witnessed as they occurred.
