Nakuru women MCAs caucus has called for speedy investigations into an incident where an 11-year-old girl was allegedly defiled by a truck driver.

The incident is said to have occurred on Wednesday along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway near Mediheal Hospital.

According to the mother of the minor, her daughter was brought at her place of work at section 58 by a motorbike operator at around 1.30PM on Wednesday.

He said who he had been instructed by the traffic police on the route to take the minor to her mother.

On inquiring what had transpired, her daughter narrated how she was called by a truck driver. He then committed the heinous act and threatened not to tell anyone.

“My daughter came at my place of work at around 1.30pm with a motorbike operator who told me he had been instructed by traffic police who operate along Nairobi-Nakuru highway near Mediheal to bring the child and ensure that she is taken to hospital before proceeding to police. When I inquired from the child she narrated to me how she was defiled by a truck driver who threatened her not to tell anyone,” said the mother.

She was taken to Nakuru PGH hospital before recording a statement with the gender desk at Nakuru Central Police station.

She is now calling on police to ensure the perpetrator of the act is arrested and brought to book.

"Mine is just an appeal to the police to assist my daughter get justice by arresting the perpetrator of the act,” said the mother.

Speaking at the Nakuru Central Police station when she accompanied the mother of the minor to record a statement, nominated MCA Joyce Anyiso called on police to nail the suspect.

“As Nakuru women MCAs caucus it pains when such an act happens and we will follow up the matter until justice prevails. We are also thinking of coming up with a motion to have CCTV cameras mounted in our town to help address crime issues,” said MCA Anyiso.
