The National Anti-Corruption Campaign Steering Committee (NACCST) has organised a meeting with Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organisation (MYWO) in aid of creating public awareness on all aspects of corruption.

According to NACCST Director David G Gathii who spoke on Monday at a Kisii hotel, they want to sensitise women on how they can campaign against corruption by passing the anti-corruption messages to their family members .

“We are here as the committee to sensitise the Maendeleo ya Wanawake’ officials in aid of campaigning against corruption, we hope the women are going to play this crucial role in the family and in the society,” said Gathii.

He added that the women will help in mobilising Kenyans in grassroots level to join in the fight against corruption.

Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organization (MYWO) chairperson Rahab Mwikali said that through the memorandum of understanding they signed with the committee they hope to successfully fight the vice. 

“We are here in Kisii county as the MYWO so that we can be sensitised on how to monitor and raise awareness of corruption which is a threat to the society,” she said.

The meeting was attended by Maendeleo ya Wanawake representatives from Nyanza region.
