Radio and TV music host Willy Tuva has appealed to local artistes to embrace music worth dying for in order to stay relevant in the competitive industry.

The decorated 'Mseto East African Drive' host revealed that most Kenyan artistes only sing ambiguous and chest thumping songs instead of composing songs which are of great relevance.

"Kenyan musicians are talented but what should be important for them is to focus on content music. Tanzanian artistes even compose love songs that can be listened to by cross gender people as well as peers of different age groups," said Tuva.

Speaking on Citizen TV on the Ten-over-Ten Friday night show, Tuva said that by so doing, Kenyan music will draw more support locally and deviate the current wave of affection for West African music.

The self-proclaimed 'Mzazi wa Kizazi Kipya' who has for a while nurtured upcoming and talented artistes region reckoned that Kenyan musicians needed support from fans as well as presenters by giving Kenyan music more air-play to help them grow.

He however challenged artistes to get aggressive by using the diverse social media platforms for extensive marketing and at the same time embrace unity and support each other similar to what foreign artistes do to their upcoming musicians.
