Addressing journalists at Naivasha town over the weekend, Mututho further said that an operation to get rid of illegal alcohol brewers will be conducted countrywide.

He stated that licensed bar operators must adhere to the law if they want to remain in business this festive season.

“Bar outlets and joints that sell alcohol and offer entertainment must follow the outlined rules and stipulated hours,” said Mututho.

Mututho added that the agency is planning on coming up with temporary measures to ensure that people do not over-indulge in alcohol as they celebrate during the holidays.

On those who drink and drive, Mututho warned them saying that more Alco-blows will be introduced on all roads, adding that driving while under the influence of alcohol is among major causes or road accidents and common during the festive season.

Mututho said that they are closely working with the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to curb drunk driving.

On the same note, Mututho has urged parents to monitor their underage teenagers to ensure they are not involved in alcoholism, adding that teenagers take advantage of merry-making season to drink and commit other social evils.
