[Photo/Victor Wanaswa]National Authority for the Campaign against Drug Abuse (Nacada) chairman Rtd Lt. Col. Julius Ayub Githiri has urged motorist to desist from reckless and drunk driving.
The NACADA chairman said his organization was deeply concerned about the increasing number of road carnage casualties most of them caused by drivers under the influence of alcohol.
"Our organization is very concerned about the ever-growing number of causalities as a result of road carnage in the Country. It’s time every road user play a role in reducing this road accident." Said the Chair.
He said his NACADA will partner with all stakeholders to fight the vice especially this critical time of Christmas festivities when many people are tempted to the driver under the influence of alcohol.
He also called on all Kenyans traveling to different parts of the country to ensure they drink beer when they reach their homes and not when on their journey while driving.
Githiri said this in Machakos during a one day workshop with local partners in a programme to sensitize the public on dangers of driving while under the influence of alcohol.
