The National Aids Control Council has become the first institution to launch an online research hub in East and Central Africa.
The platform is meant to help local researchers share their information from their findings on one platform. The information will be readily available and easily accessed by different stakeholders on www.maishamaarifa.or.ke.
Health CS Cleopa Mailu said the data on the website will help the council come up with better policies to fight HIV/Aids in the country.
‘We are privileged to launch this platform which is not only the first in Kenya but also the East and Central Africa region. The platform will help stakeholders discuss debates on issues emerging among communities. This platform will also help us get information from the highly ranked and experienced researchers in the country,’ said the CS during the launch of the platform.
Mailu praised the management of NACC for coming up with such a brilliant idea saying he believes the hub will help change lives of people in the region.
He also said this was a good platform to create jobs for researchers since the research conducted will be shared publicly.
