The Nairobi county government has acquired 20 bin skippers and 17 new garbage trucks to end the garbage menace in the city.
According to the county's environment officer Eng Peter Kimori, they set aside Sh50 million to repair grounded trucks.
"The county will spend Sh60 million every month in paying garbage collectors," said Kimori.
He said that each ward in the county will have at least two trucks to cut costs of hiring the same garbage trucks.
"The county plans to add 51 more trucks in the next three months to deal with the garbage problems as the aim is to have 210 trucks in three years," he added.
