Human Rights activist Boniface Mwangi will lock horns with Mathare MP Stephen Kariuki in the much anticipated 2017 polls.
Mwangi’s announcement comes barely two months after the first time MP ditched Orange Democratic Movement for Jubilee Party.
The race will also feature former student leader Steve Mbogo who has declared interest in the ODM ticket.
“I will vie for Mathare constituency Member of Parliament seat. I intend to speak courage fluently and I am counting on your vote,” read his Facebook post on Saturday.
“It will not be easy but I also count on your financial support to make my dreams a reality. Together we can do it,” said the outspoken activist.
Mwangi has been a chief critic of Jubilee government and had fought big battles among them fierce exchange with Deputy President William Ruto.
