Kiambu deputy governor Gerald Githinji has vowed to promote entertainment and music industry in the county to nature young talents and underground musicians.

The deputy governor has expressed his concerns over talents which go to waste due lack of money and sponsors to direct them into making music a career on its own.

Githinji who was speaking today in Kiambu town hailed Sauti Soul musicians for their consistence and willpower to do music urging the youth to follow suit.

He said that the county government is ready to support young talents to avoid youth indulging in crime and substance abuse in the area.

“Kiambu County will do everything possible to tame insecurity in the region and music is just a program that will create other programs,” said Githinji.

He revealed that Kabogo has huge plans for the Kiambu youth and they should avail themselves during a workshop that is set to kick off soon on matter relating to business and entertainment.

Nairobi governor Dr. Evans Kidero who was in the same meeting hailed Kiambu County for their dedication to serve the youths of Kiambu and the nation as well.

Kidero said that Kiambu youths are very lucky to have visionary leaders and his government will follow suit to nature young talented musicians to tame drugs and substance abuse.

He said that he is ready to work with Kiambu government to tame insecurity within Nairobi and its environs to make Kenya an admirable place to be.

“Kiambu youth should be celebrating to own such visionary leaders and my government is ready to work with Kiambu for a better Nairobi and its environs,” Kidero promised.

He however challenged leaders who politicize every development leaders try to achieve and urged youths not to be incited by malicious leaders.
