Striking doctors in Nairobi City County have been given 72 hours to explain why they should not be axed over their persistent strike.
According to the County Secretary Robert Ayisi, the county has met all demands outlined in the return-to-work agreement signed on September 30 but over 100 medics have refused to resume duty.
“As a county, we have fulfilled our side of the bargain and working on what is remaining,” Ayisi told Nairobi News.
Ayisi said that their positions will be advertised if the doctors failed to respond to the letters sent to them.
The County Secretary disclosed that City Hall had fulfilled demands by the striking doctors and could not understand why they had not resumed duty.
The doctors who have been on strike since September have however dismissed threats to fire them and termed it an unconstitutional threat.
