National Treasury CS Henry Rotich said on Wednesday the government is ready to clear Sh64 billion debt it owes the Nairobi County government.
This comes after Governor Evans Kidero accused the national government of failing to pay the money that stretches back to a period when counties were not in existence.
Kidero said the debt affected the county's effective delivery of services.
“All you have to do is submit the bill to my office and we take it from there,” said Rotich
Rotich was speaking during the fifth annual conference for chairpersons of the constitutional commissions and independent offices at the City hall.
Present in the conference were chairpersons of constitutional commission, the Teachers Service Commission, Public Service Commission, National Police Service Commission, and the National Cohesion Integration Commission.
