The county government gave them 72 hours to explain why they are on strike yet the issues they had raised were already addressed.

Speaking to the press on Thursday, County Secretary Robert Ayisi said that the doctor's issues have been addressed fully and that the salary arrears of Sh34 million have been cleared.

"The county has obtained a court order stopping the strike. We cannot allow the doctors to continue holding the county at ransom," Ayisi said.

He added that the county administration had done a lot and therefore doctors have to get back to work or face an immediate sacking.

"Sacking is a process. It is not a one-time event as you have to issue show-cause letters to give them time to respond and suspend them if they fail," he said in a statement.

The doctors went on strike claiming that their salaries and promotions were delayed by the county government.
