Barely hours after the city forewarned the looming water supply cut, the county has been hit by another scare after health services were paralysed by protesting doctors at some city hospitals.
As confirmed by the doctors’ union secretary-general Ouma Olunga, the doctors went into protest following delayed payments running back to six months and un-effected promotions.
Ouma said this during a State House summit on health where doctors revealed that they chose the silent protest way as they feared victimisation.
According to the Nation, Olunga said that doctors were also disgruntled owing to City Hall’s failure to disburse back their NHIF deductions that have been done for the past eight months.
The protest began on Sunday midnight as confirmed by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Union Nairobi branch chairman Thuranira Kaugiria who spoke to the media on phone.
