Candidate eyeing the Nairobi governor’s seat are set to face off each other in a public debate on Thursday.

The debate has been hosted by the Kenya Alliance of Resident Associations (Kara).

Candidates who have confirmed they will participate are incumbent Evans Kidero, Senator Mike Sonko, Michael Mutinda (Agano Party), Godfrey Wanyoike (independent) and Miguna Miguna (independent).

Peter Kennet is yet to confirm.

Kara programmes manager Nancy Kariuki sought to allay fears that the aspirants might engage in chaotic verbal tussles during the debate.

“We are not expecting any chaos, as the leaders will tomorrow morning be coached on how to conduct the debate in a civilised manner,” said Ms Kariuki.
