Dethroned Miss world Kenya 2016 has accused the Nairobi Hospital of negligence.The 23 year- old model Rashanara Embrahim has said that three weeks ago she contracted the flu which later turned on to be bronchitis.
She got on to antibiotics and was feeling better until she felt a sore pain that had developed on the right side of her ribcage especially when she coughed.
Ms Ebrahim wrote on her Facebook.
“I was taken to emergency at Nairobi hospital and put in a wheelchair to the ward where I was injected with pain medication, twice, the pain became bearable but still horrid. A chest x-ray, blood tests and organ function tests and three doctor changes later (Each doctor got busy with other *more injured* patients) a lady doctor went through my tests and concluded I was perfectly fine and just had a low tolerance for pain and just needed to continue my antibiotics.
She prescribed pain medication and asked me to go home. I felt crazy!!! A week later and I was still in unbearable pain that would leave me in tears every time I coughed. The pain got so bad it brought me to my knees. I was in bed for days after that,”
Two and a half weeks ago she felt a sharp pain as she coughed and broke down on the ground. She then had a snap of a broken bone which left her completely incapacitated and was taken to Nairobi Hospital.
She decided on Monday to seek a second medical opinion at Mp Shah hospital.
Unfortunately a Xray shocked her as she had been walking with a broken rib. The Doctors said that she could have captured her lungs.
