Evans Kidero has dismissed claims that Nairobi is a tossup county even as Jubilee schemes to wrestle the metropolitan from the opposition.

Previously, Jubilee bigwigs led by President Uhuru Kenyatta have maintained that Nairobi will be an easy ride for the ruling party.

Despite Jubilee producing more MPs in 2013, ODM managed to secure Governorship and majority of MCAs, giving it a defacto status over Jubilee.

“I want to maintain that Nairobi is not a swing region. We registered more people than them and we are certain that Raila Odinga will carry the day.

“As a team we also want to win many elective seats. It is our game to lose because we have numbers. If they think we are not going to vote then I am sorry that they have got it wrong,” said the ODM governor.

Kidero is facing fierce competition from Senator Mike Sonko of Jubilee and former presidential aspirant Peter Kenneth who will go as an independent.

Traditionally, Nairobi has always supported opposition leaders’ en mass in presidential elections, a reason why Raila Odinga scored overwhelmingly in 2013.
