Starehe Member of Parliament Maina Kamanda has called on Jubilee aspirants and leaders to conduct peaceful political campaigns.
Kamanda asked aspirants eyeing various political seats in the coming polls to stop playing dirty and instead promote peace and unity even as they campaign.
"Let's all stop all day name-calling, mudslinging, malicious propaganda and premature campaigns," Kamanda said.
The legislator was speaking on Tuesday during a meeting with at least 50 MCA aspirants in Starehe constituency at the area offices.
While assuring them that Jubilee will conduct credible primaries in April, the MP urged the hopefuls to avoid tarnishing the names of their opponents from the JP ahead of nominations.
“We expect nominations to be done in free and fair manner since we know chaos erupts when there is interference in the exercise. For now, we should desist from engaging in divisive politics and instead support our party and President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election bid in August," he said.
Kamanda urged the aspirants to encourage Jubilee supporters in their various wards to register as voters in large numbers to ensure Jubilee wins the coming election with a big margin.
The hopefuls were drawn from the six wards of Starehe Constituency that include; Landi Mawe, Nairobi South, Nairobi Central, Pangani, Kariokor and Ngara wards.
