On Friday, MPs Richard Onyonka (Kitutu Chache South), Joash Maangi ( Kisii Deputy Governor) and Samuel Arama(Nakuru West) both who hails from Kisii region appeared before Farah Maalim led ODM disciplinary committee on defection charges.

And Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati on Friday accused the rebels of being thankless to the party and challenged them to relinquish their seats and pave way for a by-election.

“Gusii region is an ODM zone and that is a reality. However, a few of us are betrayers and have gone ahead to insult the party by jumping ship to Jubilee without seeking people’ consent. We demand an apology from them because the move was uncalled for,” he said.

“If they are mature enough, I expect them to quit the party and face a by-election if they doubt ODM’s influence. We cannot allow them to preach what the community is against. The Gusii community has been sidelined economically by the Jubilee government and we cannot allow some of us to purport than we have benefited,” he said.

Mr Arati urged Nyacheki residents to vote in ODM candidate Naphtali Onkoba as the first step towards ousting President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee Party from the government.
