A speeding bus on Nairobi-Nakuru highway killed a by-stander Wednesday morning while on its way to Western.

The bus was said to be speeding when it hit John Karanja while he was rushing to a nearby shop.

The bus has been impounded and the driver is currently being interrogated by the local law enforcement.

According to reports that John had not looked before crossing the road. This follows a rise in similar reported deaths along the highway.

“We are concerned by the high number of pedestrians who have been crushed to death on sections of this highway. We need more speed bumps,” said an officer as reported by The Star.
