Kenya is basking in the international limelight as it plays host to a three-day environmental summit under the auspices of the United Nations in Nairobi.Environmental leaders and policymakers have descended on the capital city Nairobi to deliberate on a wide-ranging environmental agenda.
Also present are political leaders and UN officials.Land, air, and sea pollution will feature prominently in the deliberative summit.Kenya demonstrated its commitment to environmental preservation by banning and criminalising the use of plastic bags.The ban ranks as one of the toughest in the world.Proposals on how to better protect the environment are expected to be made at the end of the summit.
The UN Nations Assembly on the Environment is the highest decision-making body when it comes to environmental issues.
