As the IEBC relays provisional results for various elective seats in the just conducted presidential election, former University of Nairobi student leader Babu Owino has been declared winner in the tight race.
Owino beat his close rival Francis Mureidhi of Jubilee to win the seat.
He garnered a total 33,760 votes against Mureithi’s 31,511.
However, all is not well for ODM in Nairobi after the party lost the Langata parliamentary seat for the first time since Raila was first elected MP in 1992.
The seat was taken by Deputy President William Ruto’s favourite Nixon Korir of Jubilee.

Mathare MP Stephen Kariuki lost to arch rival lawyer Anthony Oluoch who got 36,640 votes (54.7 per cent) against the incumbent's 28,216.
In Embakasi South, it was ODM's Ishrad Sumra who again lost to Julius Musili.
Sumra got 25590 votes while Musili got 25,836.
