This is because the city will be hosting the sixth edition of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (Ticad) summit which is expected to be attended by 35 Heads of States from Africa.

According to the communique from the conference organising committee,the meeting which will be held as from 25th August to 29th August will attract approximately 10,000 delegates.

As a result, the following roads will be affected during that period:

1. Parliament Road

2. Taifa Road

3. City Hall Way

Parts of Harambee Avenue.

"From 24th midnight to 29th evening  designated parking will be provided for every category of participants and gates for VIPs will be different from ordinary delegates," Amos Gathecha, who is the head of security for the summit confirmed.

The summit is expected to be hosted by President Uhuru Kenyatta alongside Japanese prime minster, Shinzo Abe.

According to the statement from Foreign Affairs cabinet secretary, Amina Mohammed, 4000 Japanese delegates have confirmed their attendance.
