"We are going to bridge the electronic divide between private and public schools in the county and also make sure that computers are useful," said Kidero while speaking at Marura Primary school in Kariobani where he handed over 16 classrooms, a dining hall, a kitchen, and a borehole.
He added that the bridge can only be achieved by providing internet connectivity to all public secondary schools in Nairobi.
Kidero said the county government is working with two international firms, Bridge the gap and Computers for schools Kenya to provide 2000 computers and connect the WIFI.
"The partnership with Bridge the Gap will see each of the 85 schools get at least 20 computers when the project is rolled out in July." He said. Bridge the gap donated 20 desktop computers to Ushirika secondary school in Kariobangi, last week.
Mathare secondary school also benefited from among the 400,000 computers donated to schools across the country.
