The County Government of Nairobi has called upon private stakeholders to work together with City Hall under Governor Mike Sonko to boost the education sector.

Speaking at County Girls High School in Ngara, County Executive Committee member for Education Janet Muthoni said liaising with private stakeholders was a crucial strategy in improving the levels of public education in the city.

“Areas like health, sports and sanitation are important for providing a conducive environment for learning and this can be enhanced through private public partnerships,” she said.

In his campaign manifesto and during his inaugural speech while being sworn-in, Governor Sonko vowed to work closely with the central government to lift the standards of public education.

He said that under his government, he will facilitate students to access quality and affordable education.
