The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has cleared seven candidates to vie for Nairobi County senator’s seat.

The seven were cleared on Monday at the Kasarani Stadium out of 28 who had expressed interest in replacing Senator Mike Sonko who will be vying for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat

Six aspirants have turned away for lacking the minimum qualifications provided by the law.

The cleared include Edwin Sifuna (ODM) Rameshchandra Gorasia (Wiper), Zacharia Momanyi (Republican Liberty Party), John Wamagata (Safina), Dennis Nthumbi (Agano Party) and 23-year-old Suzanne Silantoi, who is vying as an Independent candidate.
