The Nairobi County Government will evict all tenants of City Hall houses with rent arrears.
City Hall issued a warning to the tenants saying they collectively owed Nairobi a total Sh100 million.
According to acting county secretary Leboo Morintat, the tenants have been warned to pay the arrears with immediate effect or await eviction.
He warned that if the tenants default beyond February 5, the houses will be repossessed and reallocated to other tenants without further warning.
He added that it was not allowed for the tenants to transfer possession of the house to other third parties without following due procedure, adding that those who acquired the houses in these means will have to lose them eventually.
