Nairobi is on Thursday expected to experience a partial solar eclipse that will last for approximately four hours.
The partial annular eclipse will span over hours but will be strongest at 11.47am.
The whole city will experience the solar phenomena that will also be visible in a radius of 270km from the city.
People are advised not to view the eclipse with naked eyes as direct exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet rays can lead to partial or total blindness.
The last such eclipse to occur in the country happened in Turkana in 2013, throwing the entire region into a semi-darkness that lasted for 15 minutes.
