Over 100 delegates from across the world are expected to attend this week's International Film Conference in Nairobi to seek ways of promoting and accelerating development to the film industry.
According to Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Culture and Arts Hassan Wario, the conference will help make a platform for actors in the entire region to share ideas and network.
“The conference will help harness the potential of the creative arts in East Africa region,” Wario said in his statement.
The event will run from November 15 to 17.
It is a collaboration of efforts between the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB), the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), the European Union (EU) and the French Embassy in Kenya.
Wario said the convention will lead to a better understanding of opportunities in the industry by promoting co-productions to develop shared values.
“The wide range of participants will provide a rare opportunity for Kenyan film makers to exchange ideas with some of the best actors from the global arena,” Wario added.
