Nairobi County will partner with the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) to develop ways of improving trade ventures in the capital.
The two parties will seal the deal through an MoU to be signed later in November.
While making a courtesy call to the offices of Nairobi Deputy Governor Polycarp Igathe, chairman of Nairobi chapter Richard Ngatia said they have finalised on the finer details of the deal.
“Our mandate is not to do business but to advocate for enabling business environment. We are therefore committed to the creation of a good business environment between the county government and the Chamber”, said the chairman.
“It is our appeal that financial institutions will consider supporting SMEs with soft loans to enable them pick up in these hard times because they have suffered huge losses”, he added.
