Nairobi city has been voted the best African leading meetings and conferences destination.
The city was placed at the top position in the World Travellers Awards, 2016.
Nairobi governor, Evans Kidero last year foresaw the planting of grass within the town. The grass planted, however, dried up due to much sun heat. The governor replaced the grass which grew making the CBD an attractive place.
Different hotels in the CBD also were renovated late last year as they prepared for the visit of the pope and the US president, Barrack Obama. Security too was beefed up and is still beefed up in the CBD and its environs. Kibera residents congratulated the governor for working hard to repaint the image of the city.
‘‘Kidero and the government at large have worked hand in hand to ensure that our capital city shines. The governor planted the grass which makes the CBD look green and the government beefed up security at all places. Right now, you need to be screened before entering any premises. This shows how the government wants its citizens to feel secure throughout,’’ said Faith Barasa.
