The damage done to wetlands in Nairobi has reached scaring levels.
This is according to National Environment Complaints Committee secretary John Chumo.
Chumo says that human activity in the county has lead to a great destruction of the wetlands and that those responsible must be taken to account.
He wondered how those building in wetlands received their title deeds yet the areas are always marked against buy or purchase in the same category with road reserves.
He has said that the government now needs to take strict measures against those who invaded the lands.
Further, he advised that all the buildings and other constructions erected at wetlands must be brought down and owners prosecuted.
Among the regions encroached by humans include the Nairobi Dam that is on the verge of extinction after Langata and Kibera investors stretched their real estate investments here.
