More residents of Kibra are now embracing Milk ATMs since the introduction of the machines in the informal settlement area.
According to the residents, purchasing milk from the ATMs is more convenient compared to the traditional forms of purchasing the commodity in shops.
Speaking to this writer on Tuesday morning the residents said that the issue of prices has been the major benefit of the ATMs.
"With Milk ATMs i can buy milk depending on the amount of money i have , the price is not fixed like in shops and supermarkets," said Martin Chacha.
"Sometimes when i needed milk but i had only sh10, it meant that there was no milk for me, because in shops the cheapest milk you can get costs sh30. With milk ATMs i can buy at sh10 and still satisfy my needs," said Paul Okumu.
The residents cited hygiene as the major factor that has made them embrace milk ATMs in the area.
"We have street milk vendors in this area, and sometimes the environment they are conducting the business is not conducive, yet milk is very sensitive to dirt. That is why many of us are preferring ATMs to other methods," said Christabel Akumu
