Nairobians have expressed mixed reactions with Governor Mike Sonko after he picked former Nairobi Women Rep Rachel Shebesh in the list of candidates to take the deputy governor office.
Speaking on his Facebook timeline, a section of the residents demonstrated fury why the governor would decide to go for Shebesh when there were other women of 'better credibility'.
They accused Sonko of letting his past relationship with Shebesh control matters of public interest.
Ndi Kimamo said: "Enyewe this your former bae... nikuthrow, nigutee, nikutupa. Ann kiguta anafaa, nausimfanye Samantha."
David Macharia said: "Uyu si alikuwa manzi yako?..msifanye kazi pamoja ju utakuwa unashinda kwa ofisi ukipewa retirement benefits za hio relationship."
Ngudi Collins Monteco said: "She was rejected on the ballot by Nairobians. She doesn't qualify."
Others said there was no reason to trust Shebesh with the position owing to her relationship with other leaders across the country.
Feisal Salah Haji said: "She is a puppet of other politicians. Cannot be trusted."
However, there was also the fraction that thought Shebesh the best person to deputise the governor.
Tchichi Montello: "Shebesh is simply "bae". Hata Muthoni Passaris haonekani tena huyu akitokezea."
